Graphing equations using open-source software KAlgebra
KAlgebra is a graphing calculator available as FOSS and can be downloaded through Ubuntu Software Center. It can graph in 2D: y = f(x) or in 3D: z = f(x,y). It has excellent features in 2D graphs but have plenty of rooms for improvement in 3D graphs.

How to print a star chart from Stellarium?
One function Stellarium lacks is the capability to print the star chart on paper. The easiest way to print is to get the screenshot of Stellarium, embed it in word processor, and then print. However, we need to be sure that all visible celestial bodies on the time and place of stargazing will be visible in the map. We also need to consume less ink in printing Stellarium.

Using Writer’s Record Change feature in essay checking
One excellent way of providing essay work to students is by asking them to submit a soft copy in Open Document Format Text (ODT) and do the proofreading and editing work using OpenOffice/LibreOffice Writer with Record Changes enabled. Your students can easily compare their original work with your revisions.
